Weekly update and Tahoe trip

We survived another week! Dragana went to see a doctor for her deep vein thrombosis. It is serious enough for her to have an operation on March 6. The good news is that the thrombosis is not life-threatening.

Little grandma (Nada) came on Tuesday and with one day to recover from a jet-lag we packed her up again and headed to Tahoe for a long weekend.

The trip to Tahoe was nice. We had quite a bit of snow - perfect for hitting the slopes. I enjoyed skiing, and the boys had a blast in the snow. As we were getting ready to head back to Bay Area a big storm hit.

Saturday night and Sunday during the day there was approximately 30 inches of snow (75 cm). Our normal drive that usually takes 3.5 hours took almost 12 hours. Fifteen miles of road around Donner Summit (7085 ft = 2160 m) took us 5 hours to cross. I am sure that all you math-buffs can calculate that we were traveling 3 miles per hour. We could have been faster walking if it were not for the white-out conditions and blazing snowfall;-)))

Cheers,

Milan
